Characteristics of Contamination in Mining Area in Nandan Guangxi and Its Sustainable Development Measures

摘要

The characteristics of contamination in the mining area in Nandan, Guangxi Provence, are determined by analysis and characterization of mining wasteland and crop wasteland samples. The results show that the wasteland in this area is contaminated by As, Cd, Zn, Pb, Cu simultaneously. The contamination of As, Cd is quit significant. The contamination problems and environmental issues in this region are very serious. The awareness on environmental and health issues is investigated by spot survey and analysis. Overall awareness among the residents in the region is very poor. The Measures must be taken to assure the sustainable economy development by local and central governments.
