Writing Case Studies in Information Systems Research

摘要

Case study research can be reported in different ways. This paper explores the various ways that researchers may choose to write down their case studies, and a typology of writing case studies is introduced. The typology is based on a 2x2 matrix resulting in four forms of writing case studies: Chronology, Play, Biography and Voices. The four forms are characterized and discussed, and some methodological issues concerning writing case studies are highlighted.
