Qualitative Interviewing: The Long Interview Technique and Laddering

摘要

This paper describes approaches to qualitative interviewing which employ the Long Interview technique and Laddering. The Long Interview technique is a process, which allows research participants to reflect upon the domain of discourse in relatively un-biased and fee flowing manner. Laddering allows the researcher to probe further regarding the research participant's detailed interpretations of a general comment. The incorporation of the Long Interview technique and Laddering will allow the grounding of the data within the specific domain of the research participant.
