This paper addresses aesthetics as a fundamental aspect of the composition of design products and the perception by users. Characteristic content may include technological aspects like: materials, manufacture, fabrication, textures, weight, colours, leading to form, functions and general utility. The discussion of the make of products has profound implications on their features, examples of which are listed above. Pertinent issues to be addressed would include, amongst others, integrating aesthetic sensibilities in products, by taking into account the user's emotional responses. Well-designed products should, apart from having good functional efficiency, capture the user's delight and desire to own it.
