The effect of concentration of electrolytes on the composition and the structure of the tin-zinc alloy deposits was investigated using Hull cell and circulation cell simulator. Tin-zinc coatings containing 10-40 percent Zn with good surface appearance were deposited from slightly acidic electrolytes. An increase in the concentration of organic additives leads to suppression of Sn deposition rates, resulting in increase of zinc contents in deposits. The effect of complexants on alloy composition was not clear, whereas the bath working temperature affected alloy composition. It was found that tin and zinc phases were finely mixed together by microstructure and EDS analysis.
