A novel anti-condensation ship coating is discussed and equipment designed for evaluating the performance of the coating quantitatively is described. An isobutylene-anhydride copolymer was synthesized and used as water-absorbing resin instead of starch based water-absorbing resin currently used in the coatings. Expanded perilite was used as the heat insulation material. The optimum formulation was determined as follows: titanium dioxide powder 8.22
