Significant efforts have been directed towards improving the performance and cost of P/M materials and processes to compete in the global competitive environment. Recent advancements in lubricants, warm compaction technology and powder metal alloys have provided a means for achieving improved mechanical properties and higher densities. Through the use of an advanced binder system, densities greater than 7.2 g/cm{sup}3 with subsequent increases in mechanical properties can be realized in a single compaction step at temperatures below 158°F (70°C), providing a cost effective means of reaching performance requirements. Static and dynamic properties along with processing capabilities for warm compacted hybrid alloys (FLN2-4405) and diffusion bonded alloyed (FD-0205 and FD-0405) materials are presented.
