The development of the equipments for fully mechanized mining was described in this paper according to the present status of the equipments being used at Datong Coal Mining Bureau. Of which there are 4 aspects being summarized as following descriptions. 1. The imporvement of reliability and face monthly capacity of present equipments used in fully mechanized coal mining. 2. The development of the equipments used for medium to thick seam ming with daily output 7000- 10000t. 3. The development and application of the equipments used for 1.5m seam mining with daily output 5000t. 4. The equipments with daily output 15000- 20000 t will be imported directly if possible to reduce the numbers of fully mechanized mining face from 41 to about 20 gradually and to maintain the total output about 30 Mt.
