Large-scale "gas cloud" exists in a series of large or medium-sized oilfields in the southeast of the Bohai sea, the area of gas cloud exceeds 20 square kilometers. The quality of seismic data in gas cloud area is particularly poor, it leads to unclear understanding of structure and reservoir, which seriously affects the development of oilfield. On the basis of understanding the propagation mechanism and attenuation effect of seismic waves in gas cloud areas, we present the gathers simulation method based on priority traces to improve the quality of seismic imaging in gas cloud areas in this paper. The results of real data processing show that the new method can greatly improve the seismic imaging quality of large-scale gas cloud area.
