The Minnesota Public Drainage Manual - a guide to administrating Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103E publically administered privately owned drainage systems.

The Minnesota Public Drainage Manual (MPDM) was originally published in 1991. It is presently being updated to accomplish the following purposes: 1.) promote uniformity in the interpretation of Minnesota Drainage Law that is found in M.S. Chapter 103E; 2.) inform readers of the interaction between Drainage Law and other laws, state and federal; 3.) recommend uniform procedures for implementing the Drainage Law statewide; and 4.) provide standardized forms for use in drainage proceedings; 5.) provideguidance about multipurpose water management considerations and authorities; 6.) add a new chapter about drainage system best management practices (BMPs); 7.) and make the MPDM more readable and user-friendly. The proposed presentation will go over thesepurposes and the process used to accomplish them including the involvement of a Project Advisory Committee made up of diverse stakeholders.
