Most agricultural vehicle automated steering control systems will only steer the vehicle while the machine is inside the field. These systems are not able to automatically turn the vehicle around at the end of each row. John Deere has developed a new system that will automatically turn the vehicle around as well as manage the implement functions in the headlands. This paper presents a brief overview of how this capability is implemented.
