Harmonious management and Sources of occupational stress: a comparision of state-owned and private enterprises from Chinese managers

The purpose of this study is to identify the major sources of occupational stress experienced by managers in state-owned and private enterprises in China. The pool of participants for the study were 206 managers from 15 diverse companies. As regards marital status,50 were single,154 were married,and 2 were divorced. 58 job stressors were examined. Descriptive statistics and factor analysis of survey data reveal that the greatest job stressors were attributed to organizational structure and climate in state-owned enterprises and career development in private enterprises. Implications of the research findings are discussed. Meanwhile,these research conclusions are beneficial to promoting staffs harmonious management.
