摘要

The increasing tendency for near net shape production of industrial parts, taking advantage of costs reduction and quality improvement, is turning semisolid processing into viable technologies.[ 1] The strain-induced melt activation (SIMA) process is the simplest method between semisolid state metal processing [1,2]. In this work, the microstructure development in the semisolid state of MRI230 magnesium alloy prepared by SIMA was analyzed aiming to compare the morphology of the formed globules through the average grain size (D) and shape factor (SF).
