The mouse genome and morphological and functional structure of the heart are similar to human ones. Therefore, the mouse heart is a suitable model for the study of the sinoatrial node pacemaker activity generation. The rapid sodium current (INa), sensitive to tetrodotoxin (TTX), takes part in the upstroke of action potential generation (Golovko, 2009; Létienne R. et al., 2006; Rocchetti M. et al., 1999.). The lidocaine derivates are used for a long time as blocker of Na-channels in nerve fibers in clinic. But the lidocaine effects on the pacemaker activity of the mouse heart have not been studied yet.
