Calibration Laboratories are experiencing increasing demand to document, analyse and manage calibration data. Can the utilisation of information technology improve and simplify this process? This paper examines the current changes affecting the management, analysis and control of calibration data, and the impact of new quality standards such as ISO9000 on this process. It further looks at the benefits of employing information technology and how this technology can improve the management and control of calibration data.
