The idea is a simple one: if the people can't go to see a space exhibition or a space museum, we will go to the people. Could this be done on a non-commercial basis? Well, a team of about 15 specialists attempted the impossible and found a sponsor for a tour of 30 of the most exclusive shopping malls in Germany. After just 14 exhibitions it has already entertained more than 7.5 million visitors, and the tour goes on. For such an exhibition to succeed, it has to be very unusual. Technically, it has to be robust and transportable, so the team decided not to show models at all. You also won't see flat display tables of photos and descriptions, or flat show cases. Instead, this exhibition has five specially constructed spheres of 4 meters in diameter, presented so that visitors can imagine they are inside an ISS module. Another sphere of 6 meters in diameter contains a 3-D cinema. The exhibition is a three-dimensional visual experience and visitors can buy 3-D glasses for a low price. That is the only thing they have to pay for; there is no admission fee or any other kind of payment.
