Novel Spinal Fixation

摘要

During the past 15 years, spinal fixation techniques and new technology have expanded rapidly. This chapter discusses a variety of new spinal fixation techniques for application from the craniovertebral junction through the lumbosacral junction: occipitoatlantal transarticular screws, screw fixation of the Cl lateral mass and C2 pars interarticu-laris, thoracoscopic screw-rod fixation, anterolateral screw-plate fixation at L4-5 and the upper lumbar segments (Xan-tus~(TM)plate fixation), anterior screw-plate fixation at L5-S1 (Pyramid Plate), techniques for L5-S1 transvertebral fixation and interbody fusion, and intraoperative CT scanning (Iso-centric C-arm) in conjunction with intraoperative spinal navigation.
