摘要

We address an inverse problem associated with the partial differential equation 72ip = - cj>tp A translation property is derived relating the fields scattered from a known object placed at different locations. The result is used in the derivation of the optimum (in the maximum likelihood sense) algorithm for detecting a target object, estimating its location, and classifying it ffom noisy scattered field measurements.
