In this communication one kind of new working material "CaCli confined to porous host matrix zeolite 13X" is proposed. The preparation and adsorption properties of the composite adsorbents were presented. Four samples with CaCl2 wt. 15.38%, wt.31.65%, wt.45.42% and wt.54.57% are prepared respectively. Experimental results show that the adsorption capacities of the samples varied from 0.343 to 0.521 (g HiO/g dry adsorbent) depending on the calcium chloride content. The equilibrium adsorption capacity of the composite adsorbent 4 is 2.50 times that of silica gel, 2.36 times that of pure zeolite 13X. Adsorption curves show that the new composite adsorbent possess higher water adsorption capacity and faster adsorption rate than common adsorbents . Thus, the results of this study demonstrate that the new composite adsorbent can be competitive with the common working materials, like pure zeolites, silica gels, etc. and should be widely used in thermal energy storage, solid sorption air conditioning systems, extracting water from air and some other applications.
