This paper briefly describes the implementation of a newly acquired data acquisition and control system at the Canadian Space Agency's David Florida Laboratory (DFL). As an integral part of the DFL's Thermal Qualification Facilities (TQF), this combined system replaced a separate data acquisition and separate control system that was based on outdated and outmoded technologies. The paper highlights the challenges encountered and lessons learned during the commissioning and startup phases. It emphasizes the open architecture and expandability criteria that led to further improvement and upgrades for better performance and reliability. In addition, an up-to-date evaluation of the performance of the new system referred to as the Combined Data And Control System (CDACS) will be presented.
