The European Coordination for Space Standardization (ECSS) is now a mature process that have produced several standards in the space business frame and in such a way the lesson learned coming out from their application in the projects has resulted in a reissue of some of them in order to cope with the real needs of the European space activities. Dedicated Working Groups were gathered with the objective to produce an update version of the documents, the ECSS-E-10 part 2, "Verification" and the ECSS-E-10 part 3, "Testing" The WG's was composed by several experts compatible with the particular objectives (i.e. continuity with past work, relationship with ISO and other ECSS activities, consideration of lessons from standard application in different organizations, development of the state of the art in Industry and Agencies). In the last ATS edition, the main activities done in the Verification standard review was already presented. But after that, the standard was put in a public circulation and several comments were received from European industries and agencies. Here we will present some of the main topics discussed and agreed before to issue the final edition. Then for the Testing standard, last year a process of complete revision stated, and a WG was set up with major expertise to perform this job. Major effort was devoted to: 1. the possible lessons learned coming from the standard application experience and the useful feedback originated by the discipline evolution, 2. the inclusion of the approved Change Request dispositions and CEN (European Community Normative) comments, 3. to consider useful results coming from parallel European and International initiatives such as MATED and ISO Standardization, 4. Verify coherence and harmonization with the "Verification" ECSS-E-10 Part 2 (former ECSS-E-10-02A), 5. Extension of the applicability of the standard to space products which can fly with different and not homogenous launchers. This last point is producing a wide reconsideration of environmental test parameters and some considerations are presented on this matter. This paper will provide an in deep look on the above initiatives and the present status of the activities.
