In this work, lithium metal was modified by reacting with pyrrole in the electrolyte in order to obtain a stable and highly conductive surface film. Impedance spectroscopy indicates an enduring and efficient effect of the film in reducing the lithium│electrolyte interface resistance. Cyclic voltammetry(CV) also proves the extraordinary stability of surface film during repetitive lithium dissolution-redeposition process. However, the cycling efficiency of pyrrole modified lithium anode is not high enough as we expected. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show that uniform long ‘fiber-like’ lithium has been deposited on the substrate in 0.1M pyrrole-containing electrolyte. 1.
