CLONING AND EXPRESSION OF PORCINE INTERLEUKIN-10 GENE

Interleukin-10 (IL-10), also known as cytokine synthesis inhibitory factor (CSIF) or B cell-derived T cell growth factor (B-TCGF), is an anti-inflammatory cytokine mainly produced by Th2 cells. It not only inhibits expression of cytokines (TNF-alpha,IFN-gamma, IL-2 and IL-3, etc), but also up-regulates other anti-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1 Ra and sTNF-Rl. It plays an important role in inflammatory diseases. The objective of this paper is to clone and express the porcine IL-10 (pIL-10) gene for further studying its therapeutic role as anti-inflammatory agent.
