Brachyspira pilosicoli is the causative agent of porcine colonic spirochetosis (PCS), a non-fatal diarrheal disease associated with decreased growth rates during the grower and finisher stages of production. The efficacy of valnemulin hydrochloride (Econor~(R)) against PCS has been demonstrated in natural and challenge studies, The purpose of this study was to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations of valnemulin, tiamulin, carbadox, lincomycin, and tylosin for recent North American field isolates of B pilosicoli.
