ANTIBODIES TO PASTEURELLA MULTOCIDA TYPE SEROTYPE B:2 IN PIGS IN VIETNAM

Haemorrhagic septicemia (HS) caused by P. multocida serotype B:2 is a serious disease of cattle and buffalo in South East Asia. Whilst recognized as a disease of swine, very few studies have been conducted on its epidemiology in this species. The roleof naturally acquired immunity in prevention of disease in pigs is virtually unknown. The aim of the present study was to use ELISA to demonstrate specific antibodies to P. multocida type B:2 in pigs in Vietnam and to provide more information on the epidemiology of HS in this country.
