PRRS VIRUS ELIMINATION IN A 950 SOW TWO-SITE ISOWEAN SYSTEM

摘要

Elimination of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome vims (PRRSv) has been conducted in a 950 sow two-site system. Several elements are important to the successful elimination; stabilization of sow herd's PRRSv immunity, no new introductions into the site for 7 months, partial depopulation of nursery and finisher site, one-directional pig flow, and strict control of people traffic. No PRRSv vaccine was used at any time in any phase of production in this system.
