Why Don't Landfill Gas Condensate Knockouts Work Very Well? - A Computational Fluid Dynamics Evaluation

CFD provided an easily interpreted graphical representation of the flow of LFG through a simple impingement plate condensate knockout, and allowed us to quickly and easily evaluate the effects of changes in flow rate and geometry on the performance of the knockout. The results of the CFD evaluation discussed in this presentation suggested design changes that can be implemented in the future and provided hydraulic data that can be used for modeling LFG collection systems.
