Digital watermarking technique has been looked upon as an effective solution to protecting the copyright of multimedia data. In this paper, an Image-Adaptive (I-A) watermarking algorithm in Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) domain is proposed. The algorithm utilizes the visual masking and texture characteristics of Human Visual System (HVS) to achieve the invisible and robust requirements for watermarking. In addition, we design a binary image watermark signal and permute it by pseudorandom method before embedded. Thus our watermark scheme possess the dual security. The experiment results show that the algorithm is robust to common digital image processing methods and the quality of the image is guaranteed.
