摘要

Oral dosage forms with controlled release kinetics have become of growing interest in recent years. The polymer coating of drug-loaded particles has been an accepted method for controlling drug delivery. Such particles can then be either filled into hard gelatin capsules or compressed into tablets. However, numerous studies~1,2 have shown that coating films generally suffer from damages during compression proces,s leading to a loss of their sustained release characteristics. To protect polymer films from fracture under pressure, multilayered particles with cushioning excipient can be used.
