We are developing and implementing driver interfaces to navigation systems. We discuss some of the design issues in developing thes systems. Our implementation, based o nthe Galaxyll architecture, is described in detail. We discuss both oru current system under evalaution, which does not recognize street names, as well as our enhanced system, under parallel development, which does recognize street names. Results of our preliminary evaluations are presented.
