For the gas-burning roller ceramic kilns, of which the control object has the characteristics of large inertia, pure time delay, and time-varying disturbance, etc., the traditional PID Control are not able to get a very satisfactory result. When controlling the temperature, the adjustments may even severely affect the composition of the gas atmosphere, which is another important parameter contributing the results. This paper adopts PID algorithm of gray prediction to study on the decoupling control of the temperature and flue-gas atmosphere to the gas-burning ceramic roller kilns. And we also simulate the system with SIMULINK. The results of simulation indicate that the grey prediction is helpful for the system with strengthening its anti-interference ability, improving its control precision, promoting its control quality and real-time property. And it also makes the system of strong robustness and better adaptive ability. All of these advanced performances contribute to the gas-burning ceramic roller kilns of better sintering quality, higher production efficiency, and more efficient energy utilization in practical application.
