The target and environment generator for air-defence weapon system simulations

A target and environment generator for air-defence weapon system (ADWS) simulations is developed to generate the motion and characteristic parameters of target and environment off-line in the preprocessing procedure or on-line in the simulation run phase according to the nature and practical need of ADWS simulations. This software tool enables the users to build and validate the kinetic and scatter models of target and environmental objects gradually, set various scenarios of combat environment, target attacking pattern and ADWS deployment flexibly, carry out simulation analysis for the target and environment situations and generate the data needed for ADWS simulations. The paper presents the main functions and structure of the system, also introduces the methods system adopted, including the generating methods of target and environment characteristics and trajectory channel method to collect data. The generator can be used to the simulations of ADWS and system combinations in overall digital or hardware-in-the-loop level and system testing.
