A technique for forcing fillers into the lumens of reed fibers through pits was studied. Precipitated BaSO_4 and natural ground CaCO_3 as suspension of ultrafine particles were passed through the pits of reed fibers by means of high speed stirring and mixing. The fillers were forced into the lumens. Major parameters affecting loading results,as well as physical and optical properties of the papersheet loaded, were discussed.
