JOURNAL FREQUENCY ANALYSIS OF THE LITERATURE OF ACQUIRED IMMUNODEFICIENCY SYNDROME (AIDS), 1987-1989

摘要

This study attempted to quantify the maturing process of the scholarly journal information channel of the literature of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The National Library of Medicine has consolidated a major sector of the biomedical literature of AIDS in the database AIDSLINE. The journal frequencies of this database were analyzed on a monthly basis for the time period of October 1986 through October 1989. Measures were taken of the numbers and variety of scholarly journals, and the amount, and change in the intensity of clustering.
