The 5G MEC Applications in Smart Manufacturing

We introduce the first pre-commercial 5G MEC deployment upon which applications are redesigned and implemented handling real smart manufacturing tasks. We propose a 5G MEC system architecture composed of two decoupled domains, and reorganized the service structure for applications based on that architecture. By deploying the applications in the real industrial environment, the functionality and performance have been validated.
