A global performance analysis methodology: Case of cloud computing and logistics

Due to the increase of business competition, the optimization of performance remains the efficient weapon to maximize the quality-cost ratio. Recently, technological solutions opted by many industries to optimize the performance of their information systems are based on Cloud Computing (CC). This emergent concept of IT services presents many advantages like lower cost and scalability. However, Cloud Computing is still in its infancy and needs to figure out several weaknesses before becoming the most valuable answer to the growing and diverse requirements of users. This paper strives to define the whole processes required to evaluate performance of a complex system like CC in order to improve the system performance. Firstly, we define the steps required to establish a performance analysis methodology. Secondly, we identify the key performance indicators (KPIs) by applying the principal of Balanced Scorecard (BSC) then we make use of the Taguchi experimental design to evaluate the influential factors of the studied system. Lastly, we will highlight how Cloud Computing should enhance the performance of a Supply Chain.
