Economic Losses Aversion Mechanism of Voltage Sag in Pharmaceutical Industry

Voltage sag is the main cause of shutdown of sensitive equipment and interruption of industrial process, which causes huge economic loss to users. Pharmaceutical industry is one of the most seriously affected by voltage sags. Based on the survey data of a pharmaceutical factory, it is found that the sensitive equipment affected by voltage sag is freeze dryer. However, due to the large capacity of the sensitive equipment, the investment cost of mitigation equipment is high. Users are reluctant to invest. Therefore, a value-added service scheme is proposed to avoid the risk of voltage sag loss. Value-added services include mitigation service and compensation service. Mitigation service can solve the problem of high investment threshold for voltage sag mitigation. Users only need to pay a small amount of installation fees and pay service fees regularly on schedule, which can realize the voltage sag mitigation. However, the mitigation measures can not completely avoid the influence of voltage sag. Some users have a huge loss in a single sag event, and they are not willing to bear the risk alone. After purchasing compensation service, users can get certain compensation when voltage sag leads to economic loss. Finally, a case study proves the effectiveness and rationality of the proposed scheme.
