Decision Support Systems in Neurodegenerative Diseases Diagnosis, Treatment and Management

Neurodegenerative diseases are an heterogeneous group of disorders that are characterized by the progressive degeneration of the structure and function of the central or peripheral nervous system. The most common ones include Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. The presentation will focus on the most recent achievements and research results of decision support systems, both denned using data driven as well as knowledge based methods towards the diagnosis, treatment, and management of the most common neurodegenerative disorders. Systems, platforms, and methodologies employing typical clinical data, wearable, or ambient sensors, as well as more complex omics information will be presented, with the advantages and disadvantages of each.
