The catalytic performance of CeO_2-promoted Cu/γ-Al_2O_3 catalysts strongly depend on the catalyst preparation method. The Ce/Cu/y-Al_2O_3 catalyst exhibited the highest CO conversion as well as 100% CO_2 selectivity and 0% CH_4 selectivity compared to the Cu-Ce/γ-AI_2O_3 and Cu/Ce/γ-Al_2O_3 catalysts. As a consequence, the Ce/Cu/γ-Al_2O_3 catalyst is a promising HTS catalyst for the hydrogen production from waste-derived synthesis gas.
