Particle size distribution model for kinetics of digesting alumina

The kinetic model for leaching process of Chinesediaspore with particle size distribution has been studied. Thispaper takes into account 1) the irregular shape and roughsurface of the natural particles, 2) the residual concentration ofAl in particles due to the impurities in natural diaspore, and 3)the particle size distributing in a size range and varying withdigesting time. A new kinetic model, PSD+RC+F model, hasbeen developed by the real characteristics of natural bauxiteparticles in leaching process. The modified gammadistribution function was applied to describe the particle sizedistribution of diaspore particles. PSD+RC+F modelcombined with gamma-like distribution function, validated bynumerical analysis, shows good agreement with theexperimental data.
