Land Subsidence Monitoring for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region using Sentinel-1

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has been suffering from severe ground subsidence in the past decades, and multitemporal InSAR technique has been widely used to investigate this region. Sentinel-1 has been very popular in surface deformation monitoring for its large coverage and free access policy. While using Sentinel-1 dataset to monitor Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region on the large scale has not been studied yet, we utilize two Sentinel-1 images in the same orbit to obtain the region deformation with large areas. As PSInSAR method has much computing cost when processing large regions, this work propose a two-step processing method. Stacking InSAR is first used to get the deformation map on the large scale, then PSInSAR is used to further analyze the subsidence region and obtain more accurate deformation results. The experimental results have been well certified compared to other research works, and the accuracy of subsidence results has been tested by GPS, which demonstrates the effectiveness of our method.
