In this study, a model test is carried out to thoroughly analyze themechanism and characteristics of evolution of bubbles in the moonpoolunder external flow, which are of great academic value and engineeringguiding significance. Digital image correlation method is employed toprocess the images captured by high speed camera in water tunnel test.Based on correlation tracking algorithm, the movement of variousbubbles in the moonpool is captured. The statistical rules of thetrajectory and velocity of bubbles can be obtained. The periodicleakage of bubbles from the moonpool is also observed in theexperiment. It can be found in the test that bubbles in the moonpoolgenerally move anticlockwise with the vortices in the moonpool, andthe bubble converges under the stepped cylinder near the leading edge.
