A comparison of the coupling between collocated VHF antenna on acommon mast in various configurations

Tactical antenna installations contain a multitude of collocatedantennae, installed on a common mast. It is not uncommon to haveinstallations containing dozens of VHF and UHF antenna operatingsimultaneously, with the need for minimal coupling and the consequentinterference between them. The objective of this paper is to address theissue of the preferred configuration for the installation of collocatedTactical VHF (30 to 88 MHz) dipole antenna installed on a common mast.Method of moments analysis is used for determining the decouplingbetween antennae in the different configurations, and practicalrecommendations for tactical antennae installations are thus derived
