In connection with a systematic analysis and optimization of thehybrid absorber of conical TEM waveguides (like the GTEM cell), a newcell concept based on ferrite absorber tiles and called FRCTEM cell isintroduced. Improvements in the reflection factor in contrast to theclassical GTEM cell were made as well as the suppression of thelongitudinal E-field intensity is demonstrated.
