Instabilities of high-current charged particle beams transported through dense plasmas

The current induced in the plasma by a high-power electron or ion beam represents a cause of non-stationary process resulting in the deformation of the magnetic field in the beam channel. Due to that a fast growth of the beam angular spread may occur.
