Protection against single-phase ground fault (SPGF) in 6–10 kV networks is connected via current circuits to cable zero sequence current transformers (CZST) of various types, which operate with large or very small secondary loads at this type of fault, depending on design of protection devices. The most effective method for studying the dynamic and static modes of relay protection devices against SPGF is mathematical simulation on a computer. The article describes the development and study of mathematical models of CZST for the study of dynamic and static modes of functioning of protection against earth faults in 6–10 kV electric networks.
