When constructing a thermal power plant (TPP), reliability and safety of its critical components (transformers, generators, turbines, pipelines, oil systems, bearings etc.) should be maintained. To do so the prototype test should be planned. The TPP component feature is that they are high value equipment, consisting of an assembly of electric, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other elements. This paper discusses the amount of testing technique design for binominal distribution law at single reliability level. The technique is based on the prototype reparability condition after failure. In this case the developer (deliverer) risk is set zero (α=0). An improvement is efficient if the next testing with the same amount is successful. The originality of the proposed technique for planning amount of testing for the single reliability level allows reaching the required output characteristics for less time.
