摘要

Silicon nanoparticles are promising imaging agents for deep tissue imaging due to their strong resonant light scattering and multiphoton luminescence excitation capabilities. Here we show that silicon nanoparticles exhibit two or three-photon luminescence upon excitation by a near-infrared and infrared laser pulse. Hysteresis of the luminescence strength dependent on excitation laser power was observed and was attributed to lattice annealing and crystallization during irradiation.
