By the combination of SPE and HPLC-Orbitrap MS, we developed a new target screening method with high reliability, sensitivity and accuracy for 84 micro-pollutants with slight or unknown impact for water environmental risk. The successful application of the developed method in Arakawa River surveillance indicated this method can be an important tool that improves the efficiency of the routine monitoring of micro-pollutants in water bodies, which will lead to a better understanding of the ecotoxicological implications of micro-pollutants present in water environments.
