In order to accomplish the infrastructure of domestic wastewater collection and treatment according to Sewerage Master Plan, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is in need of a huge capital investment. The increase in contribution from users is one of the prerequisite options for ensuring financial sustainability, however, it is essential to probe and understand the customer's preferences and willingness-to-pay. This paper aims to investigate factors affecting people's willingness to pay a premium for the improved wastewater services in Ho Chi Minh City. The double-bounded questions for contingent valuation method was used for analysis, based on the interview data collected randomly from 431 households in 2017. The study, which applied Logit model, found that bid level, 10% current environmental protection fee for wastewater, know operated wastewater treatment plants, prior information on the plan of wastewater treatment plant, martial status and first and second choice variables were associated with respondents' WTP for the improved sewerage services in regression results. However, in single-bounded model, water payment, gender, household income and house ownership played a role in households' willingness to pay.
